Kyriakos Georgiou is an award-winning Director of Photography, Filmmaker, Editor, and Creative Leader with over a decade of experience across broadcast, film, events, and photography. Known for his bold visual storytelling and deep commitment to community, Kyriakos has carved out a career that bridges grassroots impact with global recognition.
He is the Founder and Festival Director of The South London Film Festival, a culturally significant platform that has premiered and championed some of the industry’s highest talent. In its debut year, the festival’s Best Narrative Short winner went on to win an Academy Award, and it has since attracted films that have earned accolades at the Oscars, BAFTAs, and Festival de Cannes (Palme d’Or). The festival has collaborated with and showcased work from names including Letitia Wright, Julie Pacino, Stormzy, Riz Ahmed, and more. Kyriakos has also brokered partnerships with leading institutions such as Raindance, Final Draft, Picturehouse, Backstage, and the Mayor of London.
As a photographer, he has worked with a wide range of independent and high-profile clients, including global icons like Stan Lee, and his photography has appeared across exhibitions, campaigns, and press.
His technical background spans cinematography, video editing, and broadcast delivery, with fluency in Adobe Creative Suite. He has produced, directed and delivered projects ranging from music videos and advertisements to short films and feature-length content including events for broadcast such as Notting Hill Carnival. His short film When Life Gives You Lemons received international press and several awards.
In 2022, Kyriakos was appointed Lead for Film as part of the Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture initiative, where he designed and delivered a community-focused film programme in Lewisham. His work earned praise from local leaders and deepened his commitment to storytelling as a tool for social and cultural change.
Most recently, Kyriakos served as Partnerships Manager and Content Producer for Evening Standard’s London Live, where he curated citywide film content, led high-impact media collaborations, and delivered culturally resonant programming to diverse London audiences.
Kyriakos is passionate about mentoring the next generation of creatives, advocating for inclusive industry practices, and building spaces where artists from all backgrounds can thrive.
